INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE TRAINING PROGRAM FOR CONSTRUCTION PROFESSIONALS IN QUEBEC CANADA
INTRODUCTION
Practical basic building techniques in Quebec and Canada, the standard materials
used in construction projects, measuring instruments and software used in the field, the customs,
the code and construction-sector labor law, the code of the wood-frame building and several
other topics which are briefly taught in educational institutions are mastered and dominated
by workers and experienced construction professionals in Quebec and Canada. This knowledge must also be
acquired and mastered by these newcomers to the world of local construction: future engineers,
architects, designers and other construction professionals. This is achieved through this
training and business-experience program to prepare future professionals for employment.
This program aims to expose, through work-floor practice, future business professionals
so that they can become aware of the issues, customs and techniques of local labor in Quebec,
absorb and use this knowledge right away, through concrete and practical real projects, and
so that they can also develop human-relations skills at work in the construction industry
in Quebec, Canada.
This practical experience in business will allow to:
- Know the basic practical techniques of construction and renovation of
wooden-frame houses in the residential sector and others in the commercial
sector in Quebec, Canada;
- Make 2D and 3D blueprints using drawing software often used in Quebec and Canada;
- Know how to use certain instruments and measurement systems in practice
in the working environment of the construction industry in Quebec;
- Better understand the dynamics of human and professional exchanges in
the Quebec workplace to improve one’s skills, attitudes and behavior;
- Develop and gain self-confidence, as much by individual work as in a
team, in a company. This being used for interviews with concrete examples
of local experiences to tell to future employers;

- Recognize and perform practical and varied general tasks by all, for

an office in good order and clean, through taking measurements at the work

for timber-frame construction, etc.;
- Practise and improve their knowledge of English and French at work;
- Know how to better present oneself and communicate with the workers
and professionals of the construction industry in Quebec;
- Meet business and construction professionals and increase one’s contact network.
Objectives :
- Provide more resources, credibility and efficiency to the job search by
participating in real projects and practices within a business and by being
supported and promoted by a company and professionals working in Quebec, Canada;
- Find a job by:
- gaining practical experience in Quebec and Canada which is required by future employers;
- obtaining a letter of appreciation and reference of a business
executive when the candidate has performed well;
- increasing one’s network of contacts by getting to know professionals,
entrepreneurs and employers in the workplace and by participating in
